I'm a Lecturer in Mathematics in the
Institute of Fundamental Sciences
at Massey University,
New Zealand.
I received my PhD in 2003 from
UC Berkeley under
Rob Kirby, and my
research interests are chiefly in topology. I was a lecturer at
UC Davis for three years
before coming to Massey,
and have also spent five summers teaching at
Canada/USA Mathcamp.
I was a member of the 1990 and 1991 New Zealand
International Mathematical
Olympiad teams, and since returning to New Zealand in 2007 I have
become involved in the
New Zealand Mathematical
Olympiad programme. At present I am the team leader,
attending the 2010 IMO in Astana,
Kazakhstan and the 2011 IMO in
Amsterdam, the Netherlands in this role.
