Academic Board

The Academic Board is established pursuant to the Education Act 1989 Section 182(a) and (b). The membership of the Board shall be comprised as follows:

The Vice-Chancellor (Chair); Deputy Vice-Chancellors (Albany, Palmerston North, Wellington); Assistant Vice-Chancellors (Academic, Maori, Research); Pro Vice-Chancellors (Business, Education, DFAM, H&SS, Sciences); Selected Sub-Committee Chairs (Doctoral Research, Scholarships, University Research, Human Ethics and Library Committees); University Registrar; University Librarian; one elected Māori General Staff representative; Māori Academic Staff (including at least one from each region and one Māori member of the University professorial staff); 15 elected Professors, including at least one from each College and Campus; 20 elected Academic staff, 4 from each College to include the Chair of each College Board unless already appointed in another role; Student representatives (elected members to include representation from each region, extramural, Māori and both undergraduate and postgraduate).
