Massey University history timeline goes live
A timeline of Massey University’s history (from the first mention of an agricultural college for the North Island to the present) has just been launched on the University Archives webpage. It covers the major events and phases in the University’s development. Phases identified are the Lead up to Foundation (1879-1926), Foundation Years (1927-1945), Years of Consolidation (1946-1963), Becoming a University and Expanding (1964-1992), and Spreading its Wings over Three Cities (1993-2008).

Instructions on how to use the timeline are provided on the above mentioned Timeline page.
The timeline is the result of the labours of the Library’s Digital Services team in conjunction with the University Archives. It is a work in progress and more historical facts and photographs will be added over time. Enjoy!

The display shows students over the decades studying, writing letters home to ask for money, graduating, then becoming well-known scientists or CEOs, having sheep breeds named after them, or even returning as Massey’s VC...
