More Books on BONUS+

by Massey University Library Email

BONUS+
BONUS+ now gives you free access to books from eight major Australian University Libraries, with a ninth due to join up in August. That's 4.5 million books to choose from.

Try these searches to get an idea of the possibilities...

  • 'facebook' in Massey's Encore catalogue gives 16 results (at the time of writing this)
  • 'facebook' in BONUS+ gives 55 results (maybe more by the time you read this) - and you can request any of the available ones for free.

It's very easy to search BONUS+ from within Massey's catalogues. Just search Encore or our classic Library Catalogue as usual, then if the title or topic you want is not available – either because we don’t own it, or it is out on loan – click on the BONUS+ button on the same page to automatically search the shared Catalogue. Or alternatively, search the BONUS+ Catalogue directly for your title or topic.

Requested items usually arrive here in 7-10 days. Books are issued for 21 days, and may be renewed once if not required by another borrower. Staff and postgraduate students can have up to 10 BONUS+ items requested/issued at once, and undergraduate students up to 5 items.

Visit the Library Catalogue for more information on BONUS+ and how to use it.

Referencing Tip

by Massey University Library Email

Not sure about APA referencing for your assignment? The Library for Undergraduates page now has a quick link to APA Interactive (under 'Other Useful Massey Links'). This easy-to-use tool creates customised examples of APA references and in-text citations. It's created by the team at Massey's OWLL (Online Writing & Learning Link). We've found it really useful in the Library for referencing queries, so we've made it easier to find from the Library website.
If you're using another style or getting beyond the basics, we also have links to other Referencing and Style Guides, or you may be interested in EndNote bibliographic management software.

We are looking into the possibility of offering some IT classes in the Wellington Library, in mid-late April. If you would be interested in attending please send an email to the Acting Wellington Campus Librarian by email C.J.Alexander@massey.ac.nz, with your name, ID number and what kind of training you would like (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, File Management). Alternatively you can come into the Information Desk to register your interest.

Would be very interested in a MS Access class!

There is generally very little use of Microsoft Access in the Library, and few requests for help in using it. We therefore don't offer classes, I'm sorry. However, you are welcome to ask our IT Assistant Rob for help. If there was sufficient demand (more than 8 people) then we would definitely consider running a class - so please come to the Information Desk to register your interest.
