An additional introductory EndNote class will run at Turitea Library on Wednesday 10th March from 5.15-6.30pm. Bookings are essential so please email LibCol@massey.ac.nz with your name and ID number if you wish to attend a session. There are still some places available in other classes, check our website for details.

We've got a whole lot of new power points for your laptops at Turitea Library, and pretty good wireless internet coverage as well.

Level 3 has had more power points installed around the study desks near the registry end. Level 2 is well underway, and Level 1 will follow shortly. So now if you need to plug in, you should be able to find a nearby power point without any trouble. And we still have a few multiboxes at the Information Desk if you really need to borrow them.

Wireless access to internet on laptops is now good around most of the Library, on all Levels. We’ll be working on filling a couple of small gaps (the far end of the New Zealand & Pacific room in particular) quite soon.

We even have laptop rooms, on Level 2 in the 400-500s room. You’ll need to book on the sheet opposite the Information Desk. But we’re warning you, these are really only big enough for one person – and we’ve discovered they’re not soundproof.

If you need help with your laptop, particularly setting up your wireless connection, see Rob, our IT Help assistant. He’s based at the Information Desk on Level 2, and works week days.

Yes, we agree with you that Turitea Library is far too hot and stuffy, particularly in the Information Commons area on Level 2. Check out student comments on Facebook Massey Library = Sauna (thanks Alice for the page & the great artwork), or leave a comment below.

We're working with Regional Facilities Management (RFM) to find a solution. At the moment the temperature and CO2 levels are being monitored. Hopefully we'll soon be able to come up with ways to improve the environment. In the meantime, we do what we can with fans and windows, and we really don't mind you studying in singlets and stubbies.
